West Midlands – Cyber Security Latest Updates
In light of the recent cyber attacks and technological failures with some of the UK’s biggest companies including the largest supermarket chain and major restaurants and food outlets hit with the spate of ongoing issues.
These issues arise from client data, payment processing, online and via devices, internal software malfunctions etc. which as a result had a massive impact on their operations which was clearly unexpected considering the extreme methods and substantial investments these companies would have made to protect their clients, their businesses and financial assets which can be exploited via cyber attacks despite the above.
This is not only isolated to targeted individuals as prior as these days cyber criminals have stepped up their operations and have started to acquire any data possible and as a result do not have any concerns about the victims of their attacks.
With the rapid increase and growth in new technologies, devices and AI, this has also lead to the Cyber Security Breaching technology which has emerged with the assistance of AI and the new readily available devices to master their way through just about anything but the most robust security measures which lets face it, for most let alone the average person, would not have the budget or even a clue how to achieve this.
With businesses being targeted for ransom of exaggerated costs to regain their data, criminals have found this as a very lucrative market even within the local Wolverhampton and surrounding areas and the wider West Midlands area, and are swiftly becoming more heartless in their attacks as they know how valuable data can be to us.
From the average person at home, loosing your precious memories, important data, files, recordings, childhood, children, friends and family or even our dear beloved who are no longer with us.
These can never be recovered if they are stolen by cyber criminals without a hefty payment fee and still yet, you have no guarantee that this will result in your data being recovered and in full. Can you imagine the questions and thoughts you would have, what if they made a copy of this data, will they attempt steal it again, the list goes on.
Every day we have to encounter at least 5-10 devices around us, in home, at work etc that are constantly being monitored, sending messages and signals without the consent of the users nor even their awareness as most people really do not understand how the piece or pieces technology they acquire and use daily, actually works.
With better understanding and knowledge of what you use, how they work and how best to protect yourself and stay safe Cyber Security will improve as the most effective way for the criminals is to keep trying their attacks as the most vulnerable and least knowledgeable will always be their most effective victims.
If you do believe that you are aware and can constantly keep updated and stay protected in this ever changing environment of Cybersecurity, then you are in the set of individuals that can count yourself lucky but still not too safe from these evil geniuses.
We always support any motion to improve security for us all and by improving each individual with better education and skills, we all will go a long way towards improving and protecting ourselves against threats as there are new threats being developed by the day, while you are reading this, cyber criminals are at work creating their next masterpiece which will be a task for the major cyber security companies who provide us with our commercial cybersecurity software products and devices etc.
Be more active towards your personal security online and in your social spaces as attacks have place of home. You can never be too careful as in many cases, even you have done just about everything possible, somehow, your data is probably hanging around in some servers, somewhere for certain. As a fact, either by the people who we provide with our personal information via our phones, apps, social media platforms, forms, etc. your data will become available to these criminals by many means.
There are millions of data brokers who are actively selling your personal data for profit. Just think for a second, how many forms you fill in on a daily basis? Just to even buy you lunch or some simple things, you will require some information to be splashed all over the web in some company’s hands. They might have 100% positive and meaningful intentions but then when they become a target, sadly we are all vulnerable then. Victims of another victim (Original initial Targets) – simply collateral damage…
Sometimes when they get attacked, then the criminals gain access to a treasure trove of information and data that they then use to target either the companies they stole the data from or start to target individuals from their multitude of sources. DTECPC encounters clients on a regular basis with security issues of a similar nature.
